Inspired by the deep open front of the classic Tunisian Jebba, this tunic is made from handwoven hayek fabric created from 100% wool on a traditional wooden loom by master weaver Moncef in the city of Qairouan.
The edge of the neckline is fully hand-embroidered and threaded with traditional silk thread that adds a subtle sheen.
The motifs are drawn directly from classic Jebba embroidery styles that were simple, yet dignified.
Small stock now available. Entirely handmade with local materials by autonomous artisans in cooperation.
NOTE: This design has been updated in 2022 to extend the length of the bottom hem by 15 cm (see first photo).
